This is a gruesomely cute scene called "TOO LATE." The skeleton person has not gotten his gas mask on in time (it's still half in the box in his hands). This includes a handmade Rainbow hand rough-hewn trunk filled with faux books, linen wraps, a blanket roll, a booze bottle, a hunting knife, and a machine gun. The resourceful vulture has his gas mask on tight and looks admonishingly at the skeleton, saying, "Too Late, Too Late." There are booze bottles strewn about, so perhaps his senses were dulled? The skeleton can only reply with a glowing beating heart (it pulses) and constantly glowing eyes. This is a wonderful piece that says volumes about man and beast or bird sensibilities.
